Missions
The Three C's of MinistryThere are three C's necessary for ministry. Before I get to them, I want you to know that this is continuing the ideas expressed in last week's article. Here are some of the basic questions we take into consideration before teaching, evengalizing, and pursuing other Christian actions. Culture...the underlying nature of an organization. It doesn't matter if it's a church , restaurant, or retail store. The culture is known by what is seen and sesned by such organization. What do people see when they attend our congregation? What do they hear about us? How do we believe? Clarity...this is what we communicate. This can be found in our website, our worship services, our Bible classes, the number of people in attendance, the condition of your building and the friendliness (or lack) of our members. Do we communicate a love for lost souls? Do we have workers a mentality, or volunteer system? There is a difference. Cultivate...this is how we follow through. Do we start things and finish them? Or, do we have a strong start and things fall apart before it's all said and done? Training, communication, and encouragement are key elements here. The key is retention (keeping the workers). Are we giving them a break, giving them a pat on the back, and helping them when they feel weak? Every bit of this begins with each individual member of this congregation. Are we workers? All of us? Or do we just have a bunch of worn out volunteers? Think about it. |
